It happens so fast, a tiny carelessness and the mobile lands on the floor. Most of the time it’s fine, nothing is broken. But sometimes not, what if the feared spider spins its web on the display?
Well known manufacturer suggest that mending doesn’t calculate, high prices and availability of spares tell a story. Matthias Neeff, CEO of Destination Wattens Regionalentwicklungs GmbH, agreed to open up his defective iPhone to get to the bottom of it.
Spare parts, if you don’t insist on originals, are easy to get. Repair manuals can be found just as well, time to start the project “iPhone repair”.
Disassembly is, once you tried it, astonishingly simple. A few steps and the display swings up. Don’t let the boards and wires below discourage you!
The enclosed tools helped disassemble even the flexwires and the display is loose. The fingerprint scanner is all that’s left.
Now “just” reassemble all the loose boards and wires. All in all it took less than an hour. Matthias Neeff himself, and it has to be mentioned that he is not a learned technician, was astonished about his hidden talents.
