DFR Talks continue

As part of the interactive DFR Talks, which are open to interested audiences free of charge, speakers from the DFR network will talk about their projects, experiences and visions. The talk series will take place online until further notice.

DFR Talk with Thomas Feichtner

On May 13, 2021, the internationally established product designer and head of Institute for Industrial Design at the FH-Johanneum in Graz, Thomas Feichtner, will give a presentation about the topic: Design as a search for alternatives, autonomy and identity | An insight into the design process and product development with traditional manufactories and internationally operating enterprises.

Thomas Feichtner studied Industrial Design at the the University of Art and Design in Linz and has designed numerous products for international brands such as Swarovski, Laufen, Bene, Adidas, Head, Absolut, Lobmeyr and Augarten and has realized projects in cooperation with manufactures such as Vitra, Thonet and FSB. His work is positioned midway between industry and handicrafts, mass production and one-of-a-kinds and have been acquired by various design collections. International exhibitions such as the Triennale di Milano, the International Biennial of Design in Saint Etienne or the MAK – Austrian Museum for Applied Arts / Contemporary Art in Vienna followed.
