Julia Koerner, an acclaimed designer whose work intersects with architecture, product and fashion design, will be the speaker for this DFR Talk “Models and Models”.

Koerner’s presentation focuses on recent innovations in 3D printing, which have revolutionized the cross-disciplinary design work of architects and fashion designers. Such novel collaborations within the fashion industry are disrupting traditional craftsmanship and empowering innovation by utilizing emergent technologies.

In the interactive DFR Talk series, which is open to interested parties free of charge, speakers from the university’s Designing Future Realities course will talk about their projects, experiences and visions.

The University of Innsbruck and the Destination Wattens create with Designing Future Realities an open transdisciplinary laboratory for all who want to develop strategies and prototypes for a future living environment. DFR’s goal is to set an example for responsible innovation in the fields of art and design in relation to societal changes, emerging technologies, interdisciplinary sciences and ecological challenges on a local, national and international level.
